
The “Fireball 8 Dynaflash” engine appeared in 1949, the same time that Buick introduced it’s Dynaflow automatic transmission. Later there was the “ Fireball 8 Dynaflash” whose name seems to allude power and speed. This Buick straight eight was known as the “ Fireball 8” starting in 1941 just prior to the war. This particular 248 cubic inch straight 8 produced serious torque and smooth power.īuick gave it’s engines some colorful names which was good marketing. I had new floor pans also installed along with a new master cylinder and brake lines, the swing pedal and brake assembly were installed so that the master cylinder could be put under the floor board.I sent the car to a fab shop where they installed front and rear suspension from a 1987 Suburban with a 350 and a 700R transmission were also installed from the Suburban, the motor ran when it was pulled, but has not been started in over 4 years, and car does not run at this time, as condition would be unknown.


This car has the original look with Patina. This car has been in dry storage since I have owned it. I bought his car out of Texas because of its good solid body several years ago.
